MailChimp Launches Email Optimizer for A/B Split Testing Campaigns

Google

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 7, 2007 -- MailChimp launches Email Optimizer (http://www.mailchimp.com/resources/ab-split-basics.phtml), an A/B split testing feature similar to Google's Website Optimizer. Subscribers can test two email subject lines and send them to a portion of their mailing list. MailChimp automatically determines the subject line with the highest conversion rate. The winning subject line is automatically sent to the remainder of the subscriber's list.

In addition to MailChimp's Segmentation and Inbox Inspector features, subscribers have more testing abilities than previous releases. "Think of MailChimp's Email Optimizer for A/B split testing similar to Google's Website Optimizer, but for email campaigns (http://www.mailchimp.com/resources/)," said Ben Chestnut, Co-Founder of MailChimp. "Subscribers have more testing features available today with MailChimp than any of our competitors."

The A/B split testing feature in MailChimp's Email Optimizer allows subscribers to choose the percentage of emails they want to send each campaign to on their mailing list (http://www.mailchimp.com/learnmore.phtml). For example, a subscriber might send an email with the subject line "Give Peace a Chance" to 10% of their list and the same email with the subject line "Make Love not War" to another 10%. MailChimp then sends the campaign to 20% of the list (the two groups of 10%).

MailChimp then monitors the open rates and click through rates. After 24 hours, MailChimp sends out the remaining 80% of the list using the subject line that has the best open and click through rates. "We are the first in the email marketing (http://www.mailchimp.com/resources/email_marketing_guide.phtml) industry to build this technology," said Chestnut. "Our patent-pending Email Optimizer will help email marketers create and deliver successful campaigns by using the latest in technology."

To help email marketers learn how to effectively use A/B testing in their email campaigns, MailChimp has put together an "A/B Split Testing Your Email Marketing Campaigns (http://www.mailchimp.com/resources/ab-split-testing-email-marketing.phtml)" page. The resource page includes a tutorial on how to use the A/B split testing feature, links to articles on how to improve A/B split testing, subject line testing scenarios, and other valuable information email marketers can use to increase their email campaign conversion rates.
